No Quarter is a funky, blues-rock song featured on the album Roar. Inspired by the 3rd Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America the song has a double meaning. It is a rebel cry that you can’t come inside and take over my physical home in the natural or my body, my spiritual home. With driving guitars, a mouth harp, harmonica, and a killer drum solo, the Delta Blues meets the a groovy rock.

Verse 1
I know my rights
God give me my liberty
I know my rights
God give me my liberty
Clothed in my armor
Ready for my enemy

Chorus
I'm a soldier
On the edge of life and death
Raise my banner high
If it takes my last breath
I'm giving up no ground
Don't tread on me
No Quarter

Verse 2
You can't come inside my home
You won't take over me
You can't come inside my home
You won't take over me
I know my Savior
For this reason I am free

Chorus
I'm a soldier
On the edge of life and death
Raise my banner high
If it takes my last breath
I'm giving up no ground
Don't tread on me
No Quarter

[Instrumental Bridge]

Repeat Chorus x

Outro
No quarter
No quarter
No quarter

I already had in my que to create a song based on the 3rd Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America. Additionally, I fully intended to use the Revolutionary war cry “Don’t Tread on Me,” in the song. When I heard Brother Robin say “we are soldiers living on the edge of life and death,” I knew this was it. This song is a rock-blues song with a killer drum solo. The raspy edge in the lead vocal was a fun surprise and a different sound from me. It really added a bluesy dimension to the song.
