Be Thou My Vision – This beautiful and classical rendition of this timeless Hymn in an instrumental version.
The music is originally from the Irish folk song “Slane.” The words are based on a Middle Irish poem traditionally attributed to “Dallán Forgaill” from the 6th Century. In 1905, “Mary Elizabeth Byrne” translated the poem into English and “Eleanor Hull” fashioned it into the verse format. with slight modifications. It was first published as “Be Thou My Vision” in 1912. Present in most church hymnals, the hymn is acclaimed to be one of the most popular hymns in the United Kingdom.
